Imagine you’re in the kitchen and on the floor is a bag full of groceries. In fact it’s double bagged because the contents are so heavy. Bananas, juice, rice and milk. An image appears in your mind of you picking it up and putting it on the counter. Good plan. So you bend down, hook all the handles onto one pinky finger, then turn around so your back is facing the bag and your torso is bent over at an angle. Now you can lift it with your rotator cuff, a small but important muscle in the back of your shoulder. One that hurts like hell when you overload it.
